Rocturnals were originally formed under the name KansasCali in 2000, with their debut album Vegas One (The Beginning) dropping in 2002. Comprised of vocalists A. Johnson and Emcee N.I.C.E., lead guitarist Trist Cannizzaro, rhythm guitarist Adam Crow, and drummer E Borders, KansasCali made their name in the mainstream with placements on film soundtracks for movies like Crash, Haven, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith and performing on albums by R&B stars Aaron Hall and K-Ci. Sometime around 2007 they became the Rocturnals and shifted from a more hip hop/R&B sound to the soulful rock sound they are known for today.
